Watch D.O.G.S. Program

What is Watch D.O.G.S.?

Watch D.O.G.S. is a family and community engagement initiative that provides positive male role models for students that promote the value of education and act as an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance safety and reduce bullying.

How does it work?

Watch D.O.G.S. spend the day at school with their student.  Upon arrival, they check in with the office and are given their specific schedule for the day.  Typically, they arrive by 7:15 and help with the car drop-off line in the morning before heading inside with their student.  Maybe you will read books to the class or have the students read to you, go outside for recess, eat lunch with them in the cafeteria, help at dismissal and maybe go home for a nap.  You will have had the privilege of spending the day with your student and all the students will have had the joy of having a positive male role model spend the day with them.

Who can sign up?

Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who can volunteer for at least one day each year.

Anything I need to do to prepare?
